This is a for-fun speedrun marathon I am preparing for, intended to be run at some point in 2025, where I will perform a 100% speedrun of every Zelda game that is feasible to do with a glitchless ruleset.

Definition of "a Zelda game

I am defining a Zelda game very simply:

  • A video game with "Zelda" or "Hyrule Warriors in the title;
  • officially licensed by Nintendo; and
  • any game I deem fits into the marathon that doesn't conform to the title rule.
Below you'll find individual definitions, generally leaving out most things that are otherwise required to finish the game in a glitchless

  • No "Save & Quit" via "up+a"
    • 1 credit clear to avoid a loophole
To be played in Emulation on Nestopia with the original FDS version.
This is just the lowest input delay option I have access to and can reasonably record.

  • No "Save & Quit" via "up+a"
    • 1 credit clear to avoid a loophole
To be played in Emulation on Nestopia with the original FDS version.
This is just the lowest input delay option I have access to and can reasonably record.

  • Collect all 8 pieces of the triforce
To be played via MAME.
I'm very happy there's a MAME core for this so I can include it.

  • 11 Heart Containers and 24 Pieces of Heart
  • Maximum capacity for Arrows and Bombs
  • All 52 start menu items
  • All maps, compasses, and big keys
  • Upgraded magic meter
  • Timing to "The End"
  • No "Save & Quit"
    • No deaths on the overworld and in certain subworlds
To be played via the Satellaview port.
It has some tiny differences but this is mostly because I think it's neat.

  • Completed speedruns are from 20 years ago...
  • 8 Heart Containers and 12 Pieces of Heart
  • Maximum capacity for Arrows, Powder, and Bombs
  • All start menu items and all upgrade levels collected
  • Deathless, and no "Save & Quit"
  • All maps, compasses, stone tablets, and nightmare keys
  • Timing to "The End"
To be played via the Satellaview port.
It has some tiny differences but this is mostly because I think it's neat.
